I don't agree. To me the biggest proof and love for your partner is to take the time and energy to get to know your partner well enough so that you will be able to tell what it is they need.

One thing that annoys women is to constantly have to tell their partner what they should be doing. The thinking involved in determining what needs doing is half the job, doing in is only the other half, so when men rely on their partner to do all the thinking, it is annoying.

Of course, it is not safe proof, and sometimes you do have to ask/tell, but many things shouldn't need it. I think of housework, after all, it is the same thing every time, taking care of the children, doing the food shopping, cooking and the little things that you know your partner appreciate, but you need to sometimes remind yourself.

If I am in the middle of cooking dinner, helping the kids do their homework, whilst on the phone with mother in law to sort out their visit that week-end, the last thing I want to hear is my partner saying 'darling, how can I help you'. What would put a big smile on my face would be him saying 'darling, leave the cooking to me and don't worry about the homework, I'll do it with them after dinner, you go in the other room so you can hear the conversation'

Hi Guys!!
This is my advise to committed and married people that In happy and lovely marriage life, This is one of the most important ingredients, yet most overlooked. Most often, people give their partner what they want themselves. The better approach is to ask your partner, "What can I do to help?" or "What do you need?"
